A ZIMUNYA woman who allegedly resorted to violence and bit her maid after a misunderstanding over sadza was fined $50 by a Mutare senior magistrate. Tsverukai Jera (27) pleaded guilty when she appeared before Mrs Sekai Chiundura who warned her against putting the law into her hands. Ms Catherine Mwenga prosecuted. It was alleged that on February 7, Jera got home at around 8pm and found that her maid, Chipo Chingure (26) had already ate supper. This did not go down with her as she did not want her maid to eat the sadza in her absence.

Jera asked Chingure on why she had eaten all the sadza in her absence and this resulted in a misunderstanding between the two.

The accused person assaulted her maid with fists and went on to bit her on the nose.

Chingure sustained a cut on her nose, but was not medically examined.
