A 31-year-old suspected drug dealer has appeared in court after she was caught in possession of ecstasy tablets, dagga sachets and was also ingesting cocaine.
Monalisa Shamiso Mwadzira was facing unlawful possession of dangerous drugs when she appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi.
She was remanded in custody to Tuesday for bail consideration. Allegations are that on November 2, 2024, at around 8.30 pm, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics, Harare received information to the effect that the accused was in possession of dangerous drugs at Organikks Restaurant Chisipite, Harare.
On the same day at about 8.45 pm detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics, Harare proceeded to the said address where they carried out surveillance and observed the accused holding a white handbag and seated alone.
Detectives approached the accused, identified themselves to the accused, and informed her of their intention to search her.
The detectives opened the white handbag that the accused was holding and recovered two small blue pills suspected to be ecstasy tablets and two transparent plastic sachets of loose dagga. The detectives also realised that she was also ingesting cocaine.
The accused was subsequently arrested and taken to CID Drugs Harare for further management. The dagga was weighed in the presence of the accused person and it recorded 0,8 grams with a street value of Zig250-00.
