A 36-year-old woman has been arrested for dumping her two-year-old son at a shopping centre.
The woman appeared before Harare Magistrates’ Court facing allegations of contravening the Children’s act.
She was remanded in custody for her bail application on June 24.
Allegations are that on June 4, at around 9 pm, the accused person took her two-year-old son to Makumbe Business Centre in Domboshava.
She allegedly left him there.
Reports are that the child was seen crying the whole night until he was taken in by well-wishers the following morning at around 5 am.
The child was taken to hospital as he had been exposed to the cold weather over night.
He is currently in the custody of his father.
