A HARARE woman dragged her ex-husband to court claiming $66 000 for the upkeep of their two children.

Joice Nyamadzawo accused her ex-husband, Emmanuel Mariga, of neglecting his children.

“I am claiming money for maintenance since this man here is not doing anything towards the welfare of the children.”

However, Emmanuel offered $35 000.

“I am not employed and cannot offer more than $35 000.

“Besides, I don’t even know if I will be able to raise money through the piece jobs l am doing.

“I will do my best to provide for you and the children.  If I get more than $35 000 I will give you,” said Emmanuel. Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini granted Joice $40 000.
