Woman gets protection against ex-husband

A HARARE woman was yesterday granted a protection order against her ex-husband after proving that he makes unannounced visits to her place of residence.

Dephine Bande told magistrate Tamara Chibindi that her ex-husband, Jonathan Nyamayaro, visits her place as he pleases and takes the child without her consent.

During court hearing Bande said;

“We have separated but he comes to my place of residence unannounced to insult me and even takes our child without my consent.

“I am afraid he will kidnap the  child.”

She added:

“I want him to stop harassing and following me.

“He should let me live my life with my child in peace.”

However, Jonathan did not appear in court to defend himself.

Magistrate Chibindi granted the protection order in default and ordered Jonathan never to visit Dande’s place of residence.

He was barred from taking the child without the mother’s                                                                                      permission.
