A 25-YEAR-OLD woman has appeared in court for alleged theft of a motor vehicle.

Nomatter Chinhera was not asked to plead when she appeared before Harare magistrate, Dennis Mangosi, who remanded her in custody to today, for bail consideration.

The State, represented by Pardon Dziva, alleged that on November 6 last year, Chinhera went to the unnamed complainant’s house and stole his car.

It is alleged she also stole a grinder, a blow touch, four shift spanners and a tape measure, which were in the car.

The complainant filed a police report.

Sometime in September this year, detectives from the CID Vehicle Theft Squad (VTS) Harare, received information Chinhera had sold the stolen car, leading to her arrest.

The court heard that Chinhera led the police to recover the stolen car worth US$2 000.
