Woman interrupts, exposes alleged lies in Beitbridge kidnapping trial

Drama erupted in the Beitbridge Magistrate’s Court when a woman from the gallery interrupted proceedings, accusing the complainant, Precious Hungwe, of lying to fix the accused, Blessed Munyaradzi Pfichani.

Holding Hungwe’s baby, the woman startled everyone by raising her hand mid-session, declaring that she had no prior knowledge of the case but insisted Hungwe was misleading the court.

Magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba ordered her removal from the courtroom and indicated she would be summoned as a defense witness for Pfichani.

Pfichani, who faces charges of unlawful entry and kidnapping, denies the allegations, claiming Hungwe is his live-in girlfriend and mother of his child. He alleged Hungwe attempted to withdraw the charges but was thwarted by prosecutors.

Hungwe, however, denied the relationship and asserted the child’s father was hospitalized, sparking further confusion.

The trial continues, with Pfichani expected to testify in his defense. (Southern Eye)
