Bus crew member dies afer falling from moving bus

A bus crew member lost his life on Sunday after falling from a moving bus and being run over while loading passengers and cargo.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that the incident happened around 1:30 am on the Dandanda-Jotsholo Road. The victim was a loader for Dubbies Bus Service and was hanging onto the bus when the accident occurred.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi expressed concern and warned bus operators and crews to prioritize safety.

“The police urge bus operators to prevent loaders or conductors from hanging off moving vehicles,” he stated.

The ZRP highlighted the need for greater compliance with safety protocols to prevent such tragedies and emphasized the importance of following proper loading procedures.

The incident has prompted calls for stricter enforcement of safety regulations in public transport to protect crew members and passengers.(Aftogazette)
