Woman loses protection order against ex-hubby

Clotilder Mwanza

A HARARE woman, who hauled her ex-husband to the civil court accusing him of physical abuse, has lost her bid for a protection order.

Motion Harry alleged that Tafadzwa Goredema insulted and assaulted her each time they met in the streets.

“Whenever we meet in public, he always insults and beats me up.

“My child stays with my parents in Budiriro, but he always goes to my parents’ house around midnight demanding to see the kid.

“On August 3, he came to my place of residence in Dzivaresekwa around 2am.

“He insulted me before breaking window panes demanding to stay with his child.

“He has been doing all this since I left him,” said Harry.

However, Goredema denied the allegations.

“She is lying about me beating her up and nothing has been destroyed at her place of residence.

“The issue is about the child.

“On August 3, I met her around 6pm and told her about my desire to have access to my child.

“She then started insulting me,” he said.

Magistrate Rutendo Machingure dismissed the protection order application.
