Woman murders lover for demanding meat

In a bizarre passion crime, a Chitungwiza woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her lover following an argument over why she prepared vegetables instead of meat. 

The accused, Nozizwe Mpengesi, initially misled police about the victim’s identity, claiming she did not know him and had found him injured lying outside her house. 

However, police later discovered that the two were, in fact, live-in lovers, and that Mpengesi had pushed Wilson Muchimwe during an argument, causing him to hit his head on a concrete slab and begin bleeding from the forehead. 

Mpengesi is also alleged to have taken Muchimwe’s clothes and shoes to her sister Thandiwe in a bid to cover up the affair.

Police established that Muchimwe had gone drinking and when he returned, the couple had an argument over why Mpengesi had cooked vegetables instead of meat.

The couple got into an altercation, and during the fight, Mpengesi pushed Muchimwe who fell on a concrete slab head first.
