A RUWA woman was on Saturday raped by an armed robber in full view of her husband and daughter.
The armed robber was in the company of four other robbers holding knives when he raped the 30 year-old woman at around 11pm.
The robbers went away with two solar panels on the borehole, a Huawei cellphone, an itel cellphone, four blankets, two pairs of shoes, and various clothes. Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case.
“Police are investigating an armed robbery and rape cases in Ruwa.
“The complainants and their daughter aged nine were watching television in the lounge when five accused persons forced open the door and entered the house.
“One of the accused persons was holding an unidentified pistol, which he pointed at complainants while the other three were holding unspecified knives.
“The accused persons tied the complainants’ hands with a rope demanding cash from the complainants who told them that they had none.
“The daughter was ordered to lie down and she later untied her parents after the robbers went away with goods worth more than US$300,” said Insp Chakanza.
