A DZIVARESEKWA woman was raped by her ex-lover in Waterfalls on Thursday.
The 20-year-old woman ditched Tapiwa Masaiti (25) of Sherwood in Waterfalls.
She was invited to share their property and was raped.
The victim lodged a police report against Tapiwa in Dzivaresekwa where she lives on Saturday.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case saying investigations were in progress.
“Police are investigating a case involving a woman who was raped by her ex-lover who is married in Waterfalls,” said Insp Chakanza.
“Circumstances are that sometime in October 2022, the complainant discovered that the accused person was married with two minor children.
“She told the accused that she was not comfortable to engage in a polygamous marriage.
“The victim begged the accused to share the property, which they amassed during their love affair, and he agreed.
“On November 10 at 6am, the accused invited the victim to his residence to share the aforementioned property.
“The accused invited his victim into his house, and he locked the door from inside,” said Insp Chakanza.
The accused reportedly told the complainant that from all the property which they amassed, he was comfortable giving her a 32-inch TV and fan.
She turned down the deal.
“The accused person asked to have sexual intercourse with the complainant, but she refused.”
He then allegedly raped her.
