A MAN has been granted an order by a Harare magistrate which will protect him from his former girlfriend who is refusing to accept the collapse of their relationship.
The two have a child together.
Tabani Chihombore dragged his ex-girlfriend, Nyasha Beto, to court accusing her of regularly visiting his home and workplace and causing shameful scenes simply because she could not handle the reality that their love affair was over.
‘’She comes to my place of residence and work telling people that I am broke and that I cannot take care of my child.
‘’At some point, she brought my clothes in a plastic bag and embarrassed me in front of my clients, telling them that I cannot afford to buy a bag.
“I left our matrimonial home and went back to my parents’ place but she followed me and made a false police report that I had assaulted her,” said Chihombore.
He added:
“Her actions constitute a form of emotional and physical abuse, she has even hired a private investigator to track my movements before reporting to her.
“Whenever the private investigator locates me, she shows up and causes a scene threatening to harm me.
‘’She said if I fail to move back with her she will leak my nude photos online.”
Beto denied the allegations and said she only visited Chihombore’s parents’ house to request financial support for their child.
She claimed Chihombore has physically abused her a number of times and she has reported him to the police.
Magistrate Narotam granted Chihombore a protection order and advised Beto to pursue financial support for their child through the Maintenance Court.
