THE Harare Civil Court asked a woman if a 10-month-old baby could spend $160 000 she is claiming from her ex-husband.
Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini questioned Gracious Gede if the baby could use all the money.
Gracious left the courtroom disappointed after magistrate, Dhlamini ordered Richard to pay $30 000 maintenance with effect from January 31.
“How can a 10-month-old baby spend $160 000 every month? You want him to rob people,” asked magistrate Dhlamini.
“Since she claimed $160 000, I am asking a favour if she may deduct $140 000 so that I may pay $20 000,” said her ex-husband, Richard Mangwende.
In response, Gracious told the court that her ex-husband could afford that amount.
“I want $50 000 for food, $60 000 for a maid, $40 000 for clothes, $6 000 for medical bills and $4 000 for extras.”
