Danisa Masuku .
A woman from Jotsholo felt she could not bear the burden of raising her newborn baby and strangled the infant to death before dumping its lifeless body in a bushy area.

The incident heppened last Thursday at around 6pm.

Her luck ran out after a dog came home feasting on a leg of the infant.
Nyathias mother, Gladys Tshuma (46) got suspicious and asked Nyathi where the child was.

After getting an evasive response, Tshuma beat the lights out of Nyathi to force a confession.

Nyathi then told her mother that she had dumped the baby.

Thereafter, a police report was made. Appearing before resident magistrate Ndumo Masuku, Nyathi pleaded guilty to an infanticide charge.

She claimed the man who impregnated her was not willing to look after the child.

She was remanded in custody to 19 May for sentencing.
