A MAN has been dragged to court for allegedly abusing his wife since 2020.

The matter came to light when Priscilla Chingoto approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her husband, Pride Chingoto.

She accused him of verbally and physically abusing her.

She also told the court that Pride was in the habit of assaulting, and insulting, her.

Priscilla told the court that it all started when she discovered that Pride was having an affair with her friend.

“We are husband and wife, but he chased me away from our matrimonial home.

“Whenever we meet in public he intimidates, harasses, threatens me and insults me using obscenities.

“Your Worship, I want to go back to my house,” Priscilla said.

However, Pride disputed the allegations.

“She is lying, I have never abused her.

“The house she is claiming is not our house, but a company house.

“When I retire, I will leave it,” said Pride.

Magistrate Chibindi postponed the matter to tomorrow for ruling.
