A WOMAN is demanding US$2 300 in maintenance.
Mitchell Gwatidzo submitted that their minor child, with ex-hubby Jerremy Phiri, required US$1 200 for upkeep every month.
The child, she said, also requires a further US$2 300 for school fees.
However, Phiri’s lawyer argued that he was no longer able to afford such payments after he was arrested last year and suspended from his job.
Phiri has five children attending Heritage School in Borrowdale, whom he has withdrawn, according to his lawyer. Phiri’s lawyer also argued that Gwatidzo had exaggerated the amount needed. He said Phiri earns US$1 000 per month through his hustling and offered to pay US$200.
Magistrate Ayanda Dlamini postponed the matter to November 27 for judgment.
