ZANU PF Central Committee member and Harare Metropolitan Province legislator Cde Nyasha Chikwinya has hailed the party’s drive to strengthen grassroots structures as the foundation for national development.
Cde Chikwinya managed to recruit more than 150 women into the ED Mnangagwa District during National Cell Day commemorations on Saturday.
Held under the theme “Advancing Vision 2030 Through Vibrant Cell and Village Structures”, the commemorations and cell verification exercise brought together party members in Hatcliffe to reinforce grassroots mobilisation while creating opportunities for women to participate in Government-backed empowerment and development programmes.
Speaking to Zimpapers, Cde Chikwinya said expanding the party’s membership base remains critical to consolidating its grassroots support and advancing the country’s development agenda.
She said recruiting new members, particularly women and young people, was the most sustainable way of strengthening the party’s structures and ensuring communities fully benefit from Government empowerment initiatives.
Cde Chikwinya urged members to remain active within their cells and work collectively to mobilise communities, saying vibrant grassroots structures are central to achieving Vision 2030 and delivering inclusive socio-economic development.
“Recruitment of new members is the only growth behind the party’s development. Projects are already ahead, and commitment to the party ensures their success,” she said.
She said that loyalty and commitment to the party are critical for sustaining ongoing initiatives.
“Commitment to the party is what drives progress. Without dedication, projects cannot deliver the intended impact,” she said.
As a member of the national executive of the women’s league, she highlighted the importance of expanding projects introduced by Senate President Cde Mabel Chinomona to newly recruited women.
“Projects introduced by Senate President Cde Mabel Chinomona must be expanded to newly recruited women. This ensures they utilise government benefits and strengthen their livelihoods,” she said.
She linked grassroots mobilisation to broader national goals, saying that cell structures are vital for advancing Vision 2030.
“Cell structures are the backbone of our political and developmental vision. Through vibrant cells, women can access opportunities that align with Vision 2030,” she said.
