CRANBORNE Bullets coach, Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera has bemoaned the departure of two key players during the mid-season transfer window.
The army side lost Tadiwa Chibunyu and Erick Manhurukure, who were signed by Chicken Inn and CAPS United, respectively.
Saruchera said Chibunyu, who was their captain, and Manhurukure, were key players who were going to help them fight to avoid the dreaded chop.
“It was so painful to lose the two players,” said Saruchera.
“They were our key players and, no doubt, they were going to help us to fight relegation.
“However, we will soldier on.
“We are in the right direction and I must say, in the second half of the season, we are very dangerous. Cranborne Bullets are here to stay.”
Last season, Saruchera and his men had a strong second half display that saw them escape relegation.
It was a season in which Chibunyu emerged as the club’s top goalscorer with 10 goals.
Manhurukure also had fine performances for the army side.
In the first half of the season, the defensive midfielder won the hearts of the CAPS United technical team after he scored the winner for Bullets when the two sides met in the league.
After 20 games, Cranborne Bullets are second from the bottom with 18 points.
They are three points ahead of bottom-placed Black Rhinos.
Bullets have won four games, drawn six and lost 10.
