SECOND-PLACED Flame Lilly walks into another tricky assignment tomorrow when they clash with newboys Ngezi Platinum at Baobab in a World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league tie.
The Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera coached-side will be out to collect maximum points as they seek to pile the pressure on Gunners who are currently leading the championship race.
Flame Lilly beat DC Academy in their last encounter to get a full set of points and a goalless draw by Gunners against Twalumba all worked in their favour as they are now just a point behind the pacesetters.
A win tomorrow might see them taking over the pole position if Gunners lose or draw against Seven Flames at Commando.
The seasoned campaigners, who have declared their interest in the championship race, go into this tricky encounter against Ngezi knowing it’s not going to be a stroll in the park.
“We are going to Ngezi and the game is going to be tough but we have to make sure that we come out with something.
“Like I said before all games are difficult, there are no easy games in Division One so our approach remains the same.
“We need to go in hard and see what we get at the end but we need to push hard to make sure we don’t slip up again,” said Saruchera.
Saruchera said they can feel the pressure now but noted that they have what it takes to challenge for promotion.
“I think we are a very solid team. We are happy with all departments and maybe what is left is we need to keep on pushing so that we will be tops before it’s too late.
“Our new players have added value, Peter Ngwenya came in as a substitute and scored our only goal.
“I think our acquisitions are okay and we are happy with what we have. Football is a pressure game, we will be under pressure every week but we have to manage it.
In other matches to be played tomorrow struggling sides, Royal Classic and Chegutu Pirates, battle it out at Tsungubvi in a bottom-of-the-table tie.
Meanwhile, matches featuring ZRP Morris and Black Mambas have been postponed for the next two weeks as the two police sides will be involved in the police games.
