YADAH Stars coach Kudakwashe Masaraure is relishing the prospects of a Premiership ticket after they caught up with army side Buffaloes in the Eastern Region Division One Soccer League race. Yadar Stars joined the league five months ago after acquiring the franchise of Ruwa Gunners and have made great strides winning all their matches.Masaraure’s team are now tied with the army side on 46 points with only goal difference separating them.
The club owned by Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries founder Walter Magaya is now aiming for promotion and Masaraure said everything is now pointing to that.
“We started with the aim of fighting for survival back in March but we have managed to do well in the race and now we are only separated by a single goal with the log leaders Buffaloes.
“We have since shifted attention from fighting relegation and we now want the championship. We need to win all the remaining games and also wish our opponents Buffaloes win so that it will be interesting when we play them at Sakubva,” said Masaraure.
Masaraure whose team meet Gutu in their next assignment said they will bank on experience of players they brought on board recently.
“We are prepared for Gutu they were the first team we played when we joined the league and we managed to beat them 5-1 but that is now history.
“Every team would like to beat the log leaders so we will not underrate them. We will take the game at Paradise seriously and we are happy with performances of experienced players who we brought on board.
“We have now in our books former Dynamos midfielder Milton Makopa who is improving with each passing game as well as former Triangle defender Jimmy Dzingai who has driven us.
“Dzingai is a regular while Makopa is having some game time but still need to work on his weight so we are patient with him and I know he will be important in this campaign,” added Masaraure.
