YBZ aims to create rural employment

Chipinge Correspondent
AS high unemployment rate sweeps throughout the nation, the national youth service of Zimbabwe has embarked on strategies to equip youths with skills aimed at creating rural employment. The Ministry of Youth through its organisation, Youth Build Zimbabwe (YBZ), has assisted in creating many jobs aimed at achieving psychomotor employment among the Zimbabwean youth.

The organisation, which was established in 2008, managed to implement a programme which enhances youth participation in the national, social and economic development of the country.

In a tour of some of the projects conducted last Wednesday, it came to light that the organisation (YBZ) has successfully built school blocks and toilets at Clear Water Secondary school.

The organisation, through its youths, built two six-roomed houses for teachers at Mooi Plats Primary School and has managed to build toilets at Mbeure Primary School.

After participation in the organisation, youth who excel receive certificates of accomplishment on various trades.
The principal training officer responsible Youth Build Zimbabwe projects, Cde Willard Machiwenyika, said the main objectives of Youth Build Zimbabwe was to inculcate national pride in youth for them to become progressive and useful members to the society.
