A ROUTINE walk home turned into a horror movie for a 26-year-old Karoi man who was left bruised and battered after a vicious attack by a man who mistook him for a thief!
The drama unfolded around 11PM on 30 September 2024 when the victim was heading home, minding his own business. Out of nowhere, a 42-year-old hothead pounced on him like a lion on a gazelle, accusing him of being a crook.
Without warning, fists flew and boots rained down as the older man unleashed a savage beating on the unsuspecting walker, leaving him nursing serious injuries.
But karma caught up quickly!
The violent attacker was dragged to court and slapped with a 2-year jail sentence for attempted murder at the Karoi Magistrates’ Court.
Locals say this is a wake-up call to all vigilantes with itchy fists.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) confirmed the incident.
