FORMER Zimbabwe Under-17 captain Malcolm Mapondera is set for new adventure in Europe where he is linked with German football side, FC Koln Academy.

Mapondera, who is currently playing football in Dubai, is a product of the BN Academy and has been nurtured by veteran goalkeeper mentor, Labani Kandi.

The young goalkeeper’s handlers confirmed that he has now secured the visa to travel to Germany to further his football development.

Mapondera’s move comes barely two weeks after another Zimbabwean, Macdonald Makoni, had left the country to further his development in Dubai.

The 19-year-old has joined Gulf United, which is regarded as the United Arab Emirates’ leading academy for development for young players aged between eight and 23 years.

They are also the biggest scholarship provider in the Middle East, who facilitate movements for talented young players to the United States and Canada.
