Young Warriors preps in shambles

Sports Reporter
THE Young Warriors’ preparations for the Caf Under-23 Championship qualifier against Swaziland on Sunday are in shambles as some of the players called by coach Callisto Pasuwa were recalled by their clubs.

Zimbabwe clash against Swaziland at Rufaro on Sunday and Pasuwa is struggling to get all the players he requested.

Dynamos recalled their goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva and defender Blessing Moyo for their league game against Tsholotsho on Monday.

“Kuda Mahachi, we talked to him when he was in South Africa and he was released by his club but on his way he said he is going to Bulawayo and now he is in Bulawayo he said he has a problem with his child who needs to be operated.

“So we will see tomorrow but with the time we have I can’t afford to keep on waiting.

“We had a player (Macauley) Bonne who had problems with airfares for him to come. Marvelous Nakamba’s team have said they are playing play-offs in Netherlands.

“I received a phone call from the Chicken Inn administrator saying they want their players, Lawrence Mhlanga and Tafadzwa Kutinyu, back.

“They want to use them for Saturday’s game and they have emailed a letter to ZIFA. So we are waiting for the letter from ZIFA.
