ZIMBABWE is “experiencing birth pains” which will soon pass as the country is certain to turn the corner after embarking on successful economic reforms, a cleric has said.
Visiting South African church leader and businessman, Prophet Hope Makhubela told delegates at a business seminar organised by Dominion Life Church at a Bulawayo restaurant last week that the country’s economic fortunes would change for the better and Zimbabweans should put Jesus Christ ahead of whatever business idea they had.
Prophet Makhubela said Zimbabwe was blessed with abundant natural resources which will play a part in the economic resuscitation.
“You don’t need to dig more than two metres in some areas here in Zimbabwe to get minerals, yet in other countries like South Africa you have to go some kilometers deep into the ground. I know the country is experiencing economic challenges now what I was shown by the Lord is that these are birth pains which will soon pass once the baby comes out. That baby is economic prosperity.
“As church people we have to play a part in business because the church needs the money to survive and spread the word of God, and we also have to play our part as Christians in the country’s economic transformation. We have to put God ahead of what we do, pray for our country, our leaders and our businesses. If you want to get into business you have to identify a solution to a problem. People are always willing to pay for a solution to their problems and as church people and business people, let’s identify what people need and then offer solutions,” said Prophet Makhubela.
Apostle Philip Chisale from Dominion Life Church said they organised the business seminar to empower church members and the general public with business ideas. He said the church realised that the country needed everyone to pull together for the economy to be revived.
“As Dominion Life Church Bulawayo we decided to have a business seminar because of the economic situation that is happening in this nation. According to the Word of God the church has answers in all spheres even economically, now a lot of businesses are closing down and businessmen are giving up, but the Word of God has hope. As a church we have business people and people are asking us how we are doing it, but it’s because these businesspeople in church have accepted God and God gives hope and success. So this seminar is meant to assist people operate in God’s way, because if you do that you can succeed even in a desert. Prophet Makhubela has made it in business in South Africa and we invited him to do some impartation, and secondly he is also due to preach at our church revival in Nkulumane,” said Apostle Chisale.
Bulawayo businessman, Mr Dumisani Kodzai, provided the venue for the seminar at his Dickies Restaurant in the city centre.
