Youth leader arrested for illegally parcelling out land

Court Reporter

MASHONALAND East Zanu-PF Youth League chairperson Kelvin Mutsvairo has appeared in court on allegations of illegally parcelling out land that belongs to Goromonzi Rural District Council at Melfort Farm.

Mutsvairo, who was jointly charged with Lincoln Matare, appeared before Goromonzi magistrate Mrs Shelly Zvenyika, who remanded them in custody to September 27.

Mutsvairo and Matare were not asked to plead to the charges.

Beneficiaries of the residential stands had their properties demolished in July this year after Goromonzi RDC attained eviction orders from the High Court. Mutsvairo and Matare allegedly prejudiced Goromonzi RDC of US$5 100.

Land developers Rodgers Pote and Arthur Chidenhe have since appeared before the same court on similar allegations.

They were both remanded on $20 000 bail each.
