A dedicated team of youths in Bulawayo is making strides in the community through their organisation, We Love Foundation, which has implemented various initiatives and programmes to help communities.
Formed in 2022, the organisation focuses on equipping communities with leadership and vocational skills, targeting young people, the underprivileged, and orphans.
The organisation has carried out initiatives such as donations to orphanages, leadership training at children’s homes, and events like Christmas parties at
children’s homes.
Running under the Motto “building dreams, making success a possibility,” its mission is to empower young people aged eight to 35 with leadership and
vocational skills, enabling them to reach their full potential.
Anele Marvellous Khumalo (19), founder and chairperson of the organisation, said the organisation was sustained by donations, members' personal funds, and collaborations with other organisations.
Khumalo said that growing up, he learnt to develop an entrepreneurial mind set as he had many wants but was only provided with basic needs at home, which made him feel the need to teach others how to benefit from such skills.
“My entrepreneurial nature made me engage in this work because when I was in Ordinary Level at high school, I brought my own printer just to earn money.
From a young age, I learned to come up with ideas to earn money,” he said.
Khumalo said that while the organisation mainly operates in Bulawayo, they are planning to expand operations to Harare, especially in schools.
“Looking into the future, the organisation plans to utilise podcasts, invite students for one-on-one sessions, and teach them leadership and vocational
skills,” he said.
“We are planning to have our own vocational skills centre funded by grants so that we can reduce poverty in society,” Khumalo said.
