YOUTHS in the country are proud to be associated with the First Lady, Dr Amai Grace Mugabe, whose motherly love has seen her raising orphans while taking care of youths’ interests, Zanu-PF Youth League deputy secretary Cde Kudzai Chipanga has said.

The First Lady has also managed to strike a balance between taking care of her national family and her immediate family which includes President Mugabe and their children.

Cde Chipanga said yesterday Dr Mugabe is not just a mother in Zimbabwe but to Africans throughout the continent.

He said only a servant can execute duties performed by the First Lady who has stood with the President Mugabe through thick and thin.

The First Lady turns 51 today.

Cde Chipanga said the country’s youths wished their mother only the best as she continues with her selfless duty of serving the nation.

He said the First Lady remains the youths’ role model and source of inspiration.

“We wish her many more, she is our role model, our mother and I’m not just referring to the Youth League but the nation at large. She’s doing a sterling job by looking after the President who is Africa’s iconic leader,” said Cde Chipanga.

He described Dr Amai Mugabe as a servant and a philanthropist who has religiously cared for the less privileged. Cde Chipanga said as youths they have learnt a lot from Amai Mugabe’s leadership as she has motivated them to improve their lifestyles.

“Most youths lack focus when it comes to planning their lives. So many youth have wasted their time abusing social media but through the guidance of the First Lady we’ve been encouraged to pursue education. We learn this from her as she preaches what she practices. She pursued her doctorate when she was in her late 40s. We’re also encouraged to pursue education to improve ourselves,” said Cde Chipanga.

He said Dr Mugabe’s taking an active role in politics resulted in the ruling Zanu-PF becoming rejuvenated.

The youth leader said his generation have learnt a lot from the First Lady’s frank approach to issues.

Cde Chipanga spoke highly about the First Lady. He said that Dr Mugabe’s earthly works have already earned her a place in heaven.

He said the First lady has been pro development and like a mother, she wishes to see the country having sufficient food to feed itself.

“This is why we saw her visiting irrigation schemes such as Bulawayo Kraal in Binga. She gave the various irrigation schemes farming implements so that they assist the party in implementing its economic blue print, Zim-Asset, which seeks to enhance food security at household level,” he said.

Cde Chipanga said as youths they are always willing to sit down and listen to her invaluable advice.
