Ms Ellen Musvaire, a human resources professional, last week represented local youths at a summit hosted by the United States-based Institute of Public Policy and Diplomacy Research in France and has said the youths should strive to be peace builders.
The Institute of Public Policy and Diplomacy Research advocates for peace and educates young people to be socially responsible.
“The idea is to inspire young people to be socially responsible and be peace builders in their respective communities,” she said.
“This does not have to do with a war situation, but even in the workplace, peace is critical and a good component for development.”
Ms Musvaire said youths are the future leaders.
“Youths are a vital cog in society as they are the leaders of tomorrow. We should teach them to peace builders in the country,” she said.
“Our Government, led by President Mnangagwa, underscores the need for peace in the country.”
Ms Musvaire said the youths should also make peace with the environment as emphasised by President Mnangagwa through the National Clean-Up Campaign.
“It is not only about peace with individuals but also with our surroundings. This is why President Mnangagwa initiated a clean-up campaign as part of maintaining peace with the environment,” she said.
The next summit will be held in USA in 2025.
