YOU’VE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN BUT YOUR BRIDE PRICE IS JUST TOO MUCH, SAYS NOLLYWOOD HEARTTHROB

NOLLYWOOD heartthrob Mike Godson says he has been blown away by the beauty of Zimbabwean women but any hopes of marrying one have been crushed by the huge cost of doing so.

Godson turned heads in Harare at the weekend with his handsome features which could even earn him a shot as a leading man in Hollywood movies.

The actor, who was in town for the premiere of the movie ‘Lost In Ashes,’ which features Mai TT, said the beauty of the Zimbabwean women has charmed his heart.

However, there is one hurdle the requirement, he claims, for one to hand over as many as 100 cows as part of the lobola.

Whoever told him that this is what is required for one to marry a Zimbabwean woman, Godson did not reveal that person.

Godson said Zimbabwean weddings might bankrupt him if he fell for the local ladies.

In an interview with local journalists, Godson said:

“Zimbabwean women are beautiful, warm, and strong,” he said.

“But when I heard you can pay 100 cattle for just one wife, I thought, maybe, I should marry two and get a discount!

“The people here are amazing. The energy, the love, the way they welcome you I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ll definitely be back.”

He said in Nigeria, bride price was a flat fee no matter the family background or status of the woman.

“Back home, whether she’s a princess or a regular girl, the bride price is the same. But here? One hundred cattle! That’s a whole farm!”

Godson’s friend, fellow actor and namesake, Mike Ezuruonye, also said he was blown away by the beauty of the local women.

Mai TT defended the local tradition, and reminded the Nigerian stars that lobola was not about the number of cattle but about respect, culture, and honouring family values.

The local women were not shy in showing that they were also impressed with the Nollywood hunks.

Some joked they’d gladly accept them as husbands.

Godson also received screams from ladies when he arrived for the premiere
