THE Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has cleared its long-standing audit backlog, with previously unaudited financial statements for 2021, 2022 and 2023 now fully audited and tabled.
This was announced by ZACC chairperson Mr Michael Reza during the commission’s 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held today at a local hotel in Harare.
“At the 4th Annual General Meeting held on 4 July, 2024, I made a commitment that never again shall the Commission, hold an AGM without audited financial statements,” Mr Reza said .
“I am happy to share that we worked tirelessly to have the legacy financial statements audited and we are now up to date with our audited accounts.
“I am proud to announce that the previously unaudited accounts of 2021, 2022 and 2023 are now fully audited and are duly tabled. I would like to thank the acting Auditor General, Ms Rheah Kujinga for working overtime to ensure our books are up to date.”
He also announced the commission’s full migration to the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) reporting framework.
“In 2024, ZACC successfully migrated to the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) reporting framework, enhancing transparency and public sector financial reporting.
“The commission’s revenue for 2024 was ZWG 127,6 million, utilised for procurement of properties, motor vehicles, tools of trade, employment costs, and recurrent expenditures.
“The Commission also engaged an independent appraiser to evaluate the assets. They revalued to ZWG 158.9 million, reflecting their true market value as of 31 December 2024.”
