Zanu-PF Bulawayo provincial chairman suspended

Dakamela of defying the party among other things.
The decision was made at a meeting at the party’s provincial headquarters, Davies Hall yesterday where about 100 members, including 14 Central Committee members attended.
The meeting resolved that Cde Killian Sibanda, the vice-chairman, takes over as acting chairman.
However, Cde Dakamela dismissed the meeting as illegal and said he remained the chairman.
In an interview after the meeting, Cde Sibanda said Cde Dakamela had defied the party on a number of occasions.
“This was a PCC meeting, which was meant to discuss a number of issues affecting our office and Dakamela was asked to call a meeting two weeks ago but he defied. Last week we ended up writing a letter to him asking him to call for an urgent meeting but again he did not,” said Cde Sibanda.
He said fortunately people heard about the meeting hence they attended yesterday’s meeting.
“His actions point to defiance and arrogance, especially when he was ordered by members of the Central Committee resident here in Bulawayo to call for a meeting. This morning he was here before the meeting, but chose to drive away,” said Cde Sibanda.
He said the PCC wanted Cde Dakamela to be investigated for his failure to run the affairs of the party transparently among other allegations.
