ZANU-PF members have been urged to remain steadfast despite the prevailing economic hardships.
Speaking during a Provincial Co-ordinating Committee meeting at Victoria Junior School in Masvingo on Sunday, Zanu-PF National Political Commissar Cde Engelbert Rugeje said people must not lose focus due to the obtaining challenges in the country.
“We urge members to remain focused despite the temporary economic challenges we are facing. I think it is clear our President is doing something to improve the economic fortunes of the country,” he said.
“He signed a number of Memoranda in areas of business co-operation during his recent trip to Eastern Europe. Some of them have already started bearing fruits. All these efforts show that the President is working as opposed to the MDC Alliance’s aspersions that the foreign trips do not yield the intended results.”
Cde Rugeje emphasised the need for all members of the party to take ideology orientation lessons at the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology in order to have an appreciation of the norms and values of the party.
He said while it was good for the party to have many members who vote for it, the Zanu-PF brand would be more pronounced if all members had the correct party ideology.
Speaking at the same occasion, Zanu-PF Masvingo provincial chairman Cde Ezra Chadzamira thanked President Mnangagwa for assisting about 70 families affected by a hailstorm in Chingwizi.
“As Masvingo, we want to thank His Excellency Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa for availing funds which saw families affected by the hailstorm in Chingwizi receiving assistance,” said Cde Chadzamira.
“They received money to the tune of $1 000 per affected family, food stuffs and non-food items. We also thank non-government actors, like the Zimbabwe Red Cross Society, which rendered assistance to our people.”
