DURING the ongoing 21st Zanu PF Annual People’s Conference, National Chairperson Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri took to the podium to deliver an inspiring welcome address that energised the crowd. The atmosphere intensified as delegates erupted in cheers upon her introduction of First Secretary and President Emmerson Mnangagwa as the chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (Sadc) region.
Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri expressed her honour in welcoming the Presidium and all delegates, saying: “I am highly honoured to welcome the Presidium and the delegates to the conference.”
She conveyed her hope that all attendees had a safe journey and a restful night upon their arrival in Bulawayo, known as the City of Kings and Queens.
The chairperson emphasised that the conference theme aligns seamlessly with both the party’s and the nation’s vision of propelling Zimbabwe towards an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
“This theme resonates well with our collective efforts to drive the nation forward,” she said, reinforcing the commitment to national development and economic transformation.
As discussions continue, the focus remains on strategies to realise this vision, with delegates rallying around President Mnangagwa’s leadership and the shared goal of enhancing the socio-economic landscape of Zimbabwe.
The conference serves as a critical platform for shaping the future direction of the ruling party and the Zimbabwe as a whole.
