ZANU-PF deputy secretary for security, Cde Tendai Chirau, is leading a five-member delegation to China for a three-week international exchange workshop.
Organised by the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the workshop is themed: “Shaping the Shared Future” and is being attended by leaders under the age of 45.
The Zimbabwean delegation includes Zanu PF Central Committee Member Cde Cecilia Verenga, Headlands National Assembly member Cde Walter Mapfumo, Women’s quota National Assembly member for Mashonaland Central Cde Barbra Thompson and Cde Trevor Chinyanga from the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training.
They are joined by representatives from Namibia, Lesotho, Mauritius, and Nigeria.
Cde Chirau said the programme covers topics such as China’s modernisation path, Artificial Intelligence, poverty alleviation, ecological civilisation, new media and rural revitalisation.
“It combines lectures with field visits,” said Cde Chirau.
“We are also leaning from the experiences of each and every country through our difference conversations.
“The main agenda is to share common prosperity between Africa and China. If you what to learn you need to learn from the best, since China is one of the leading countries in terms of poverty eradication through people driven policies.”
