ZANU PF Manicaland is holding inter-district meetings to educate grassroots structures about the Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, aiming to garner support for the proposed changes.

Speaking at Bazeley Bridge in Zimunya-Marange this morning, ZANU PF deputy provincial secretary for Mines and Mining Development, Cde Judith Shadhaya said: “This bill is a game-changer for our nation, allowing our leaders to focus on long-term development without the distraction of frequent elections. It is time we support our Government in taking Zimbabwe forward to become an upper middle income country.”

The bill includes key proposals such as extending presidential and parliamentary terms from five to seven years and electing the president through Parliament instead of direct public vote.

The party seeks to demonstrate unity and consolidate support for the bill ahead of public hearings scheduled for March 31, 2026.
