Zanu-PF Gweru DCC pays tribute to youth empowerment champion

THE Zanu-PF Gweru District Coordinating Committee (DCC) is mourning the death of Cde Simbarashe Mutukwa, who served as the district’s Secretary for Gender and Culture.

Cde Mutukwa died on Sunday, drawing tributes from party leaders and members who described him as a dedicated cadre whose commitment to the ruling party and youth empowerment left an indelible mark on the province and district.

In a statement, Gweru DCC chairman Cde Brown Ndlovu said the party had lost a loyal and hardworking member.

“We are saddened by the passing on of one of our loyal cadres Cde Simbarashe Mutukwa who died on Sunday,” said Cde Ndlovu.

Known affectionately as “Cde Riot” or “Baba Rarara”, Cde Mutukwa previously served as Provincial Youth Secretary for Commissariat in the Youth League, a position in which he played a key role in mobilising and empowering young people.

Party officials said he was widely respected for his dedication to the revolutionary movement and his unwavering commitment to youth development.

Cde Ndlovu said Cde Mutukwa’s contributions to the party and community would continue to be remembered.

“His impact on our province and district will never be forgotten,” he said.
He said the ruling party extends its deepest condolences to the Mutukwa family, friends, colleagues and members of the revolutionary movement during the difficult period.

“We call upon members and the community at large to remain united in grief while upholding the values and principles that Cde Mutukwa embodied throughout his life. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” said Cde Ndlovu.
Cde Mutukwa is survived by four children.

Mourners are gathered at his family home in Woodlands Phase 2, Gweru, where relatives, friends and party members continue to pay their respects.

Funeral arrangements were still being finalised at the time of writing.
