ZANU PF Harare province will strengthen its structures through empowerment programmes under the mantra of leaving no one and no place behind in 2026, the party’s provincial Political Commissar Cde Voyage Dambuza has said.
Under a loan-scheme to be unveiled at the start of the new year, party members will receive a minimum of US$1, 000 to embark on income generating projects.
In an interview, Cde Dambuza said the funds will be distributed in all constituencies in the capital.
“In 2026, we will roll out an empowerment programme that will provide US$2 million in loans to our members.
“In addition, we have the Presidential Constituency Empowerment Fund, which we are going to be launching very soon for our parliamentarians. We will be issuing out US$1,000 loans to our members as a start-up for business, which they will repay in three months’ time without interest.”
He said the province will embark on a cell restructuring exercise to account for all new members.
“We are going to go out there and increase the number of our cells as part of the restructuring exercise.
“We are also going to make sure that we have strengthened all the structures of the party from cell -District Coordinating Committee (DCCs)” he said.
Since the 2023 harmonised elections, ZANU PF has reclaimed Parliamentary seats from the opposition in constituencies in Harare such as Glenview South, Mt Pleasant and Harare East, whilst also winning local authority seats.
Cde Dambaza said the party will continue to grow its numbers in Harare, as 50, 000 members were recruited from opposition parties in 2025 through the Dzokai Kumusha programme.
“Through the initiative by ZANU PF, aimed at encouraging former members, opposition members, and those in the diaspora to re-join or join the party afresh, we have seen a massive return of members from the opposition.
“Approximately, 50,000 members from the opposition have joined ZANU PF during the course of 2025 in Harare,” he noted.
