Zanu PF First Secretary, President Mnangagwa is expected to address the revolutionary party’s Central Committee inaugural seminar at the Zanu PF Convention Centre in Gweru this morning.
The seminar, which started yesterday with the ruling party’s Secretary General Advocate Jacob Mudenda steering the meeting, is meant to strengthen internal coordination and enable strategic focus.
Yesterday was a hive of activity as various departments, including legal, the commisariat and administration, made their presentations.
President Mnangagwa’s address today is expected to give strategic direction to the party as the new year commences.
The seminar has brought together top party officials from across the country and is expected to focus on strategic issues affecting the party and its programmes, in line with Zanu PF’s guiding principles of unity, peace and development, as well as the broader Vision 2030 agenda.
It also provides a platform for the party’s top leadership to deliberate on key socio-economic and political issues, while reinforcing unity and strategic direction within the ruling party.
The Central Committee is one of Zanu PF’s key organs, playing a critical role in policy direction and implementation between party Congresses.

Delegates have now settled in the auditorium on time for the entrance of the party’s First Secretary, President Mnangagwa, who is accompanied by the party’s leadership.

President Mnangagwa has now entered the auditorium, thus signalling the commencement of the programme.

Vice President, Cde Kembo Mohadi; National Chairman, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri and Secretary General, Advocate Jacob Mudenda are accompanying the party’s First Secretary, President Mnangagwa.
The party’s National Political Commissar has taken the podium as the Master of Ceremonies.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere, is among those attending.

Minister Owen Ncube applauds National Development Strategy
Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Midlands Province, Cde Owen Ncube has delivered the opening remarks, warmly welcoming delegates to the seminar.
He praised the Government for its economic blueprints, National Development Strategy 1 and 2, stating, “As Midlands Province, we have aligned our programmess with NDS2.”
Cde Ncube also commended the President for his wise leadership, particularly noting the distribution of vehicles to Central Committee members to enhance their mobility in party mobilisation efforts.
Zanu PF Provincial Chairman for Midlands, Cde Edison Chiherenge announced plans for an upcoming workshop aimed at capacitating party cadres in the province. He emphasised the need for proper facilities, stating that the province will construct offices for each district to ensure meetings are not held in open-air environments.
“We have eight administrative districts. Party offices should be constructed to facilitate our activities. We have already begun this process, with constructions in Zvishavane and Mberengwa set to be completed soon,” said Cde Chiherenge.
Central Committee members urged to champion Vision 2030 goals
Zanu PF First Secretary, President Mnangagwa has said it is the responsibility of every Central Committee member to ensure that Government’s national objectives to attain Vision 2030 are attained as mandated by the party.
He said the Central Committee is a principal organ of the party in between Congress.
President Mnangagwa said this while delivering a keynote address during the Zanu PF Central Committee seminar in Gweru.

“This strategic seminar for members of the Central Committee is convened to strengthen and broaden our leadership capacity, ideological clarity as well as reinforce collective responsibility and discipline.
“I want to emphasise that this gathering is not for show. It is a platform for honest introspection and renewal,” said President Mnangagwa.
He said Central Committee members have the duty to consolidate people-centred governance.
“We have the inherent duty to unite our people towards development that lifts many more out of poverty. Our actions and decisions have ripple effects on the realisation of Vision 2030 and our country’s destiny,” said President Mnangagwa.
He said the need for self introspection is imperative.
“Let’s ask ourselves if we are committed to working for the people in an honest way.
“Remain steadfast with the party. We must boldly ask ourselves whether we are loyal and patriotic in dealing with the masses. The trust bestowed on us should be approached with soberness.
“The party is bigger than all of us. We must exercise self discipline and decorum,” said President Mnangagwa.
