ZANU PF’s National Cell Verification Day kicked off to a strong start in Ward 23, Insiza North, with hundreds of residents filling Shangani Station Farmers Hall to have their names captured on party cells for the first time.
The event was headed by the top officials of Ward 23, including Vice Chairman Cde Marrison Banda, Commissar Cde Muchaneta Nyoni, Secretary Cde Sipho Phiri, and Youth Secretary Cde Japhet Siziba.
Following the exercise, Vice Chairman Banda told the press that the response from the community was both “very dynamic” and “overwhelming.”
He described the interaction with Ward 23 residents as highly energetic, noting that large crowds turned out to check their registration details. Many were visibly pleased to see their names included on the party rolls. He added that some attendees were first-timers coming forward to have their names entered onto the party registers, officially joining ZANU PF, the National People’s Party. He declared the initiative a tremendous success.
Cde Banda also expressed special appreciation to local business owners who helped rally their employees to take part. He specifically acknowledged Shadow Councillor Cde Sikhanyisiwe Nkomo, proprietor of New Eclipse 2 Mine, for letting her staff leave work early so they could attend.
He praised her efforts, pointing out that the majority of her mine workers arrived in significant numbers, with most already listed on the party cells and a handful registering for the very first time. He similarly thanked Cde Biton Ncube, owner of New Eclipse 1 Mine, for releasing his workers to join the drive.
The Patriotic Vendors4ED group, led by Chairlady Cde Thobekile Mafu, showed up in full strength, and local farmers also turned out in large groups to confirm their membership status.
Banda expressed deep pride in the community’s strong cooperation with party initiatives and reiterated his gratitude to the mine owners for enabling so many workers to participate in this major ZANU PF national campaign. He remarked that if such unity continues, the nation will undoubtedly grow stronger.
The day wrapped up with party leaders voicing their confidence that ZANU PF’s grassroots networks are expanding at a fast pace. “The party is growing bigger and faster, like a veld fire,” one official noted.
