Zanu-PF win hailed

ZANU-PF’s landslide victory in last week’s harmonised elections will go a long way in propelling development in the country, an outgoing Cabinet minister has said.
The outgoing Local Government, Urban and Rural Development Minister Cde Ignatius Chombo said there was a need for public-private initiatives towards dealing with the effects of the economic meltdown of the last decade.
“The recent triumph by the revolutionary party, Zanu-PF, and its leader Cde Robert Mugabe in the harmonised elections reaffirms our values as a nation to uplift the lives of the Zimbabwean citizenry,” said Cde Chombo.

“I am hopeful that with the co-operation of the corporate world, Zimbabwe is going to emerge a great, united, democratic and prosperous nation with a high quality of life for its citizens.”

Cde Chombo said this in a speech read on his behalf by the outgoing Deputy Minister of State Enterprises and Parastatals Cde Walter Chidhakwa during a ceremony of the Adopt–a–light campaign towards improving lighting in the city of Harare.
