THE Zanu PF Women’s League is intensifying efforts to empower women countrywide to set up businesses by providing essential tools and inputs such as incubators, sewing machines and clothing materials.

The league yesterday handed over 1 000 metres of clothing material at Holland Hall, Kuwadzana, reinforcing its commitment to women’s economic independence.

The initiative is part of a broader national empowerment campaign, which includes distributing incubators across all 10 provinces to support poultry production businesses.

Building on last year’s distribution of chicks, the current programme seeks to enhance women’s capacity to generate sustainable income, paving the way for their financial independence.

In support of women programmes, President Mnangagwa has been ensuring that women occupy positions of influence in mainstream economic activities.

The President recently availed a US$3 million revolving Presidential Women’s Fund, a landmark initiative aimed at empowering women across the country.

This fund is part of President Mnangagwa’s broader vision to drive economic development and support women’s empowerment programmes.

Addressing Zanu PF Women’s League members in Kuwadzana yesterday, party’s provincial chairlady, Cde Babra Mwale, said the league will continue support empowerment programmes aligned with Vision 2030 of an empowered upper-middle-income society.

“We have handed over 1000 metres of clothing material here in Kuwadzana. This initiative fulfils President Mnangagwa’s aspiration to ensure no one and no place is left behind. We want women to be economically capacitated and self-reliant.”

Cde Mwale encouraged women to seize empowerment initiatives rolled out by the Government and the ruling party.

The League is aiming to supply not only clothing material, but also materials for school uniforms, church regalia, and traditional African attire.

“The Zanu PF Government is fostering a conducive environment for you to showcase your potential while enriching communities to advance the national development agenda,” she said.

He called for the need to support party programmes to secure more empowerment programmes.

Recent by-elections victories have bolstered Zanu PF’s position, highlighting the party’s commitment to development and community engagement.

Highlighting the importance of unity among women, Cde Mwale urged them to refrain from undermining one another.

“We must take the lead in ensuring broad empowerment across all aspects of life,” she said.

The Zanu PF Women’s League is also conducting inter-district meetings, which will come up with submissions for the party’s National People’s Conference to be held in October this year.
