ZAOGA youth conference ends on high note

A MASSIVE 7 000 youths from across Zimbabwe and neighbouring countries congregated at the Africa Multination For Christ College and The Ezekiel Guti Convention Centre (AMFCC) in Glen View 7 from October 23-26, 2025, for the Zaoga Forward in Faith (FiF) National Youth Conference.

The event, which ran under the theme “Legacy Perpetuators”, was hailed as a resounding success.

Youth participants received life-transforming teachings from the church leadership, with a strong emphasis on the church’s  role in the national fight against drug and substance abuse.

Youths from all 10 provinces of Zimbabwe were represented, alongside international guests from Zambia and other nations— highlighting the conference’s wide appeal.

La-Verne Nyajeka, a youth from Zone 15, expressed her excitement, noting the conference presented “vast opportunities.”

“I am so excited to be here because the theme for this year is Legacy Perpetuators . . . We had powerful praise and worship, we had powerful speakers, we had anointed, very anointed speakers and the word was life-changing, it was awesome,” she said.

Ms Nyajeka also commended the speakers for delivering empowering messages covering various aspects of life. “We received life-changing tips about business, about life, how to live as a youth, how to walk in a Godly manner and live a Godly life as a youth… it starts right here, as young as you are,” she added, emphasizing the call to salvation and a disciplined walk with Christ from an early age.

Gracious Chikozho, another participant, was particularly pleased with the practical teachings, stating, “We are being taught a lot of things from drug abuse, entrepreneurship, law of Zimbabwe, the word and faith.”

Leonn Njagu, an elder and the conference steering chairperson, articulated the core mission of the gathering.

“The objective of the youth ministry is to build an all-rounded youth that is a self-administrating youth, a self-supporting youth and a self-propagating youth,” he explained.

He emphasized that the youth are embracing their role as “legacy perpetuators,” carrying on the vision of the late church founder, Archbishop Professor Ezekiel Guti.

Beyond spiritual nourishment, the conference offered significant material and educational empowerment.

“We have different exhibitors who came from different corporate industries. We have banks who are coming to exhibit,” he added, showcasing the holistic approach to youth development.

The gathered youths made a collective vow to carry forward the legacy of Archbishop Guti.

Elder Njagu highlighted a major ongoing project: “Chadzoka,” a national initiative where the youth ministry is partnering to build schools all over around Zimbabwe.

Further cementing the commitment to national development, Zaoga National Youth Director Overseer Matsikenyere weighed in on other key projects, including the construction of the Ezekiel Guti Technical College.

“This Ezekiel Guti Technical College is one of the few colleges that offers vocational training, use of hands. As you know, as a country, we are focusing on Education 5.0 which talks about industrialisation,” said.

He also revealed that the church has already raised funds for the upgrading of the vocational training centre into a full college, with a two-storey block expected to be commissioned by March next year.

The conference successfully brought together thousands, equipping them with spiritual grounding, practical skills, and a mandate to uphold a positive legacy, underscoring the church’s continued influence on youth development in the nation.
