A GROUP of touts based at Zengeza Shops yesterday begged police for permission to assault one of their colleagues who was arrested for killing his lover’s child.
The group of touts popularly known as “Bherma Valley” were not accorded chance by police officers to lay their hands on Simbarashe Ashton Machipisa for allegedly killing Nomsa Sengwe’s son, Truth Maphosa aged 2.
There was chaos at the murder scene as fellow touts called for Simbarashe’s head, accusing him of abusing drugs.
One of the touts’ leader only identified as Roy, told H-Metro that Simbarashe had been tarnishing the image of mahwindi for some time due to abusing drugs.
“Police refused to let us deal with him. We wanted to exert instant justice to Simbarashe.
“He has been in and out of police holding cells for several cases to do with violence.
“We were aware of the threats he has been sending to Nomsa after he returned from prison.
“He is an ex-inmate and he threatened to kill Nomsa several times but it looks like the police never took the reports seriously.
“He is heartless and cruel indeed. He was used to abusing Nomsa. He was not taking the break up,” said Roy.
Meanwhile, another tout identified as Maskiri challenged police to cleanse Zengeza of drug bases and dealers.
“We are appealing for an immediate response by police to clean Zengeza of these drug bases and dealers as a way of saving lives.”
