THE Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has announced the latest marginal increase in fuel price with margins of 1,9 percent for diesel 50 and 1,4 percent for blended petrol.
Last week the regulator cut the price for blended petrol to US$1,48 from US$1,50 while diesel stood at US$1,62.
Diesel 50 is now pegged at US$1,65 while blend petrol is now US$1,50 from US$1,48.
“Please be advised of the review in fuel prices for diesel and blend with effect from 29 December 2022. The prices have been reviewed as follows; diesel 50, $1119,82 or US$1,65 per litre and blend petrol $1016,49 or US$1,50,” said Zera in the latest statement.
“Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages and should display prices in a prominent place as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations.”
Zimbabwe’s fuel price has remained stable in recent months, having dropped from as high as US$1,88 per litre early this year for diesel and US$1,77 for petrol due to a global spike in energy costs on the back of the raging Russia-Ukraine war in Eastern Europe. — @SikhulekelaniM1.
