ZHF to elect new executive

elections after submitting their critical pass to the Sports Commission last week.
ZHF chief executive, Amon Madzvamuse, said they have set September 24 as the date for the polls.
“We are going to have elections on the 24th of September if all goes well, that is if we manage to do what the Sports Commission has asked us,” said Madzvamuse.
The Sports Commission summoned the ZHF chief executive and the president, Agrippa Sora, after they had failed to submit the critical pass and their financial report.
There were also reports that the two were unable to work together with the other part of the executive lodging a complaint with the Sports Commission.
But both Madzvamuse and Sora dismissed the reports as unfounded.
The mother body was directed to put provincial structures in place before they hold the election in September and Madzvamuse said they were embarking on the programme next month.
“We want to make sure that we have viable provincial structures which I believe we have, it’s just a matter of just auditing to see if they are still working.
“Mostly the issue at the meeting was that we are not working together and we declared to the SRC that we do not want to hear that and we are working together.
“We agreed that handball has to go on whilst we are at the infancy stage to have the elections,” said Madzvamuse.
Sports Commission sport development manager, Angela Nyaundi, said they were helping the national federation to set up provincial structures through their offices in different provinces.
“So far they have two substantive provinces in Bulawayo and Mashonaland East. For them to qualify to have elections they must have four substantive provinces and that won’t be a big problem because our offices are working with them.
“We spoke to the two (Madzvamuse and Sora) and they have said that they have no problems working together
“Meanwhile, we are waiting for feedback from the board on the constitution because we had worked on the document.
“I think the board is meeting in two weeks time,” said Nyaundi.
The Sports Commission development manager said they recommended the ZHF executive to start working on the remaining province next month.
“We realised their critical pass was congested because they wanted to cover the remaining eight provinces in July but we recommended them to start in June and spread their programmes,” said Nyaundi.
ZHF were supposed to submit the revised critical pass yesterday but Madzvamuse said they were waiting for their president Sora who was out of town.
