Three teachers’ colleges — Hillside, United College of Education (UCE) and Mkoba Teachers’ College — will take part in the games.
This was confirmed by Hillside sports director Edward Chekure yesterday.
“We will be having our games from 15-16 March and we will have three colleges participating. We expect stiff competition as usual since these games are held every year and the competitiveness among our athletes has always been high,” he said.
Athletics will be held at Nust on the 15th and the ball games will be at Hillside on the 16th, except cricket that will be played at rented premises yet to be named.
These games will be a platform to choose representatives for the regional team that will participate in the national games set for Belvedere Teachers’ College at the end of this month.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo Volleyball Association secretary general Brian Manuel confirmed that his association had been approached to provide expert advice during volleyball games.
“We have been approached by Hillside Teachers’ College to be involved in an officiating capacity,” said Manuel.
