ZIDA withdraws report due to error

Herald Reporter

The Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) has retracted a statement in its Quarter Four report released recently, because the report contained a typing error that increased gold production targets 10-fold.

In a statement, ZIDA said: “The Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency wishes to advise its valued clients and stakeholders of the retraction of a statement on Page 18 of its Quarter 4 2023 Performance Report – which reads: ‘The projects are expected to eventually contribute to increasing the country’s gold production from the current 200 tonnes to 300 tonnes per year by 2025’.

“The agency wishes to inform the public that the said statement should read: ‘The projects are expected to eventually contribute to increasing the country’s gold production from the current 20 tonnes to 30 tonnes per year by 2025.’ The agency wishes to inform the public that the error was in no way meant to misinform or misguide and it sincerely regrets this error, and that the error has been corrected on relevant platforms.”
