Zifa Mat North title race tight

The teams that are vying for the title which will assure the league winner in Pool A a direct slot in the Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League are log leaders Technosphere, Dynamites, Chinotimba Rovers, ZRP Hwange and Mkhosana.

All the teams have played 30 matches and they are left with four matches each to end the season.

Technosphere is tied on 69 points with Dynamites but are at the top of the log because of a superior goal difference while Chinotimba Rangers who lost top spot because of a draw with Iwisa are third on 68 points.

Dennis Tshuma, the league’s chairman said with effect from this weekend, all the teams would play at the same day. “We do not want a situation where teams cry foul and what we have agreed on is to have all games involving championship chasing teams played on the same day and time.

In Pool B, GMB Silo is at the top with 30 points, a point ahead of Stars United with United Forces sitting on third position having amassed 27 points.

All the teams in the league have played 14 matches and they are left with four games.

Pool B champions will be involved in a promotional playoff with the runners-up in Pool A with the team which wins joining the Pool A winner for Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League.
